NORAD Project with the goal of saving lives of women and girls through improving Reproductive Health (RH), and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) provided quality RH and MCH services through a multi-pronged community-led approach in 11 Provinces of Afghanistan.
95 Community Outreach Midwives (COMs) and 75 Family Health Houses provided a total of 302,199 essential Reproductive Health and Mothers and Child Health Services to the 127,034 clients.
Two mobile health clinics continued their work and provided RH services in pre-already selected sites in Kabul city and delivered quality reproductive health services. LARC training was conducted for the Parwan and Kapisa Provinces FHHs midwives in Rabia Balkhi Maternity Hospital. Besides, the Data Management Training through the Care Mother Application was successfully conducted for FHH midwives of Balkh, Herat, and Logar provinces.
The supervisory visits were conducted to the 19 project COMs and 18 FHHs in Parwan, Logar, Laghman, and Kapisa Provinces. Besides, two Mobile Health Teams of the project were also supervised, and necessary feedback was provided. During the year 2023, under NORAD Project 14 new Family Health Houses (FHHs) were established in the Siah Gerd District of Parwan Province.
